The basic dog biscuit recipe!

The basic dog biscuit recipe!

Feb 19, 2012

Hello and welcome to my Dog blog! Over the last few months I’ve been playing around with a few biscuit recipes for my treat loving mutt Lilo. I’ve always been to lazy to make cookies for me let alone for the dog! But the thing is, I can make way more healthy treats for her then I will for myself, and it’s so cheap!  After reading the ingredients on some of those treat boxes I had for Lilo, I tossed them. No wonder they are on sale! Yes, I have become one of those Dog Moms. Anything to keep my faithful running partner happy and healthy!  Here’s a simple recipe your plush pooch is sure to enjoy!!

Suggestion: I only bake a dozen or so at a time and freeze the remainder of the dough. They spoil so much quicker when they’re fresh.

Preheat oven to 350 Degrees.

1 1/2 cups flour ( white or wheat ) I used white but either will work.

1 cup Quaker oats

1 tsp Salt

1/2 cup Hot water

1 egg

1 TBS peanut butter

1 beef or chicken bullion cube dissolved in HOT water

Add all ingredients together. Add more flour as needed.

Roll out the dough. Use some fun bone cookie cutters or other ones if you have them!

Place cookies on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 30 minutes.

* You can also add liver or bacon bits for extra flavor *

Whats your dogs favorite treat recipe? I’d LOVE to hear from you!!
